HUMAN SERVICES ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The committee advises the Clatsop County Board of Commissioners on services for local residents with developmental disabilities, mental illness, and drug or alcohol addictions. The committee identifies needs, establishes priorities for publicly funded services and assists in selection of service providers, evaluates services and provides a link to the public through advocacy and education.
There are two openings: for an unexpired term ending in February 2016 and full three-year term ending in 2017. The Board of Commissioners will make the appointment.

The Planning Commission holds land-use hearings, implements the county’s zoning ordinances and comprehensive land-use plan and advises the Board of Commissioners on land-use issues. The Planning Commission regularly meets at 10 a.m. the second Tuesday of each month, in Astoria.

Clatsop County strives to have a Planning Commission that represent all geographical areas of the county and encourages all interested parties to apply. However, applicants from the following planning areas are strongly encouraged to apply: Lewis & Clark-Olney-Wallooskee, Elsie-Jewell, Seaside Rural and Southwest Coastal.
