FARM BOARD OF REVIEW
Clatsop County is seeking volunteers who are knowledgeable and experienced in farmland values to serve on the Farm Board of Review to set assessment values for local farmland.
The Farm Board of Review hears the annual Farm Report prepared by the Clatsop County Assessor and determines the special assessment values of land meeting the qualifications as “farm use” – properties zoned as Exclusive Farm Use and Non-Exclusive Farm Use. Farmland lease data is used to determine “farm use” land values.
There are five positions to be appointed for a term ending June 30, 2015. The Board of Commissioners and County Assessor will select four members from a pool of applicants, with those four appointees selecting the fifth member for a one-year appointment to serve beside them. The committee will meet once a year in June 2013 and June 2014. The meetings are typically an evening session lasting an estimated two hours.

RECREATIONAL LANDS PLANNING ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Clatsop County is seeking applicants for a vacancy on the Recreational Lands Planning Advisory Committee.
The citizen committee assists in developing long-range plans for county parks, and formulating amendments to the recreation lands element of the county’s comprehensive land-use plan. The committee meets once a month.
The opening is for a term ending in February 2015. The county board of commissioners will make the appointment.
