Record Research

You may view documents on our public terminals (1995 to present) in our office free of charge. Our staff will help you get started using the equipment and finding your information. We are located on the second floor of the Public Services Building at 820 Exchange St., in Astoria.

Due to new laws making certain documents such as military discharge records exempt from public disclosure, our documents stored on film (1995 and before) are currently not available for viewing.  As soon as the redaction process is complete, they will be made available for viewing.  All research for these documents will be handled by clerk and elections staff.

To search our records, you must come to our office in person or mail in your request. Our mailing address is: Clatsop County Clerk, 820 Exchange St., Suite 220, Astoria, Oregon 97103. When mailing a request, please include the Document number and the year of recordation. Please see recording fee schedule for recording and mailing costs. Please make checks payable to: Clatsop County Clerk. We cannot process your request without the correct payment

If you are requesting a copy of a current deed (1995 to present) and do not have the reference number, we can also search it by book and page number of deed book, or name of grantee or grantor and approximate recording date.
